Peshtigo Area Foundation Calls for Grant Applications
The Peshtigo Area Foundation is currently calling for its third cycle of grant applications. Non-profit, volunteer, and charitable organizations in Peshtigo are invited to submit applications. The deadline for returning the applications is 4 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2009. The grants will be awarded on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at the Peshtigo Area Chamber of Commerce annual dinner.
The Peshtigo Area Foundation was established for the purpose of assisting and promoting charitable activities in the Peshtigo area. All donations are put directly into the Peshtigo Area Foundation and the earnings from the fund are used to make grants addressing Peshtigo community needs. The Peshtigo Area Foundation was created by a group of Peshtigo citizens, Dick Omdahl, Deb Fischer, Teresa Brostowitz, Bill Clement , Steve Schuelke, Dick Podraza, and Tim & Debbie Rennes, who felt that the Peshtigo area needed its own fund within the Foundation.
In 2008, the Peshtigo Area Foundation awarded a total of $1,200 in grants. $300 was awarded to the Peshtigo School District and Peshtigo Park and Recreation to help fund their Badger Park Disc Golf Course, $300 was awarded to Zion Lutheran Child Development Center for their Playground Expansion and Update, $300 was awarded to the Town of Peshtigo Volunteer Fire Department for Ice/Cold Water Rescue Suits and $300 to the Peshtigo Chamber of Commerce/GFWC Peshtigo Woman’s Club to help fund the Band Shell project. Applications must be submitted on-line. If you have any questions or would like more information about the new application process, please contact the Foundation at 906-864-3599.
